This article reveals the essence of the lexical system, the definition of the volume, size and boundaries of words, the significance for the science of Uzbek linguistics, which is called the vocabulary richness of Navoi's works, as well as the collection of plant names in the language of Alisher Navoi's works were studied in genealogical, lexical-semantic and semantic-stylistic directions.

The article talks about the history of the study of Uzbek lexicography, as well as achievements and shortcomings in this area. In addition, works on lexicography in world linguistics are described in detail, i.e. the creation of dictionaries, the goals and objectives of the original dictionaries, the results of scientific research and shortcomings in this area. But the question of what should be today's lexicology is still open. For this reason, it is obvious that the development of the theoretical morphology of the Uzbek language is impossible without morphological dictionaries.
