The purpose of this practicum was to help bridge the gap between Otterbein’s athletic population and mental health services. Previous research has discussed the potential barriers to student athletes seeking mental health assistance from their institution, including by not limited to lack of time, stigma, education, and negative past experiences. A barrier for receiving care for DIII athletes, specifically, is access. The mission of this practicum experience is to provide the highest quality of care to all children and their families regardless of their ability to pay.

From this experience I was able to develop a comprehensive understanding of the Behavioral Health programs and services at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Additionally, I facilitated the Eating Disorder Intake Process Team Discussion. I attended daily huddles and engaged in discussion while learning from professional leaders. This also included regularly being hands-on in activities and attending all meetings, providing feedback, and debriefing with the site-supervisor.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the nature of engagement and the quality of my students’ writing composition when I implement a writing workshop. To facilitate both specific and in-depth data collection and analysis, I conducted a multiple-case study, examining three of my kindergarten students with a spectrum of literacy skills (Mertler, 2019). The multiple-case study lasted 11 weeks and contained three phases of data collection. Data showed that the participants were most engaged in elements of the writing process that corresponded to their viewed strengths as a writer and preferences. This study intended to determine the benefits of using differentiated math stations in a first-grade classroom. The goal was to learn if the levels of differentiated stations affected the first-grade students’ ability to select meaningful and challenging work. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, an Introductory Biology course at a private university was reformatted to an online format. To examine student perceptions of the effectiveness of the laboratory portion of the course, a researcher designed questions based on the Vision and Change core competencies and presented them to a representative sample of students in virtual interviews. The themes which emerged from the student responses were that students had positive views of their comfort level with the scientific method, the virtual laboratory synchronous format, worksheet activities, breakout rooms, and lessons with social relevance to college-aged students.

PCA is a language learning approach based on experiential learning, and students are asked to perform in a class.
