Statistics Canada offers yearly regional training to post secondary institutions who are participating members of the Data Liberation Initiative (DLI). Library personnel who act as DLI delegates for their institutions learn how to gain access to statistics and data products and disseminate this information to researchers. This conference presentation focuses on Fanshawe College, the first Ontario college to join the DLI in 2008.

The Upjohn Institute hosted a webinar Oct. 26, 2017 to hear from leaders in the place-based, or "promise" college scholarship movement. Funders of promise programs and local and state officials, including Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder, spoke on how such programs have benefited their communities and addressed future challenges.

Are you looking for new ways to connect with faculty? Do you know how to best support faculty publishing? Grand Valley State University Libraries has developed a scholarly activity mapping template to document current scholarly and creative practices of faculty. The data gathered can be used to identify unmet faculty scholarly needs and reveal new opportunities to build relationships with faculty.
