The problem this basic qualitative study addressed was that primary grade teachers, who taught different curricula, were not prepared to teach in a fully remote environment. The purpose of this study was to investigate teachers' perspectives about the challenges they experienced teaching primary-grade students remotely and to explore their perspectives on providing remote instruction training to teachers. This was accomplished using the conceptual framework of Garrison et al.’s community of inquiry model. The problem investigated in this study was that, despite professional development (PD) training, elementary teachers at a school district in the western United States are challenged in instructing students with dyslexia. Leadership, teachers, and parents have observed significantly disproportionate discipline of African American students at urban elementary schools located in Ohio, despite the implementation of positive behavior intervention supports (PBIS). This basic qualitative study explored teacher perceptions of the overrepresentation of disciplinary actions amongst African American male elementary students in a regional school system in Ohio. The conceptual framework for this study was derived from Ladson-Billings’ theory of culturally relevant pedagogy and Skinner’s operant conditioning, which supports the PBIS framework. It was unclear how the teacher education curriculum at a regional university in the south central region of the United States developed mathematical knowledge for teaching (MKT) in prospective elementary teachers. Understanding how MKT develops during teacher training is important because MKT has been linked to student achievement. Perceptions Of Coping Strategies Of Young Adults Who Were Bullied As Youth, Latonya Rainwater

Victims of childhood bullying often use passive coping strategies and experience depression, substance abuse use, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts. The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study was to examine adults' lived experiences of coping methods they used as victims of bullies during adolescence. Lazarus and Folkman's transactional theory of stress and coping provided the framework for the study. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 11 young adults who were bullied as adolescents. Coding analysis indicated 7 emerging themes for coping: confrontation, self-controlling, seeking social support, accepting responsibility, escape-avoidance, problem-solving, and positive reappraisal.
