Un sistema de educación bilingüe e intercultural empezó oficialmente en Ecuador con la DINEIB, Dirección Nacional de Educación Intercultural Bilingüe, bajo la dependencia del Ministerio de Educación, en 1988. Rising electricity prices in Australia have caused low-income households to take drastic measures to reduce their energy consumption, cutting back on essential needs like food and heating. At the same time, prices for renewable energies like solar PV are decreasing, making renewable energy a more viable option for low-income households than grid electricity. In support of increasing the nation’s supply of renewable energy, the New South Wales government is funding the Zero Net Energy Town (Z-NET) project. In the field of peacebuilding, education reform is the most tangible way to propel forward and build positive change. Access to schooling is not the only factor that will eradicate structural violence and inequality in our world. This can be seen with violence and inequality increasing even though educational enrollment has reached upwards of 90% in developing areas. La investigación está basada en una característica importante de las movilizaciones estudiantiles en Santiago, Chile que son las tomas, o los encierres voluntarios. Las tomas son usadas por los estudiantes para atraer atención a un tema y para hacer demandas a la administración o al gobierno. El trabajo investigó el significado de las tomas en el contexto de cuatro liceos emblemáticos en Santiago, y como los estudiantes se organizan para realizar estas tomas.
