Literature from the fields of psychology and neuroscience were examined to establish what scientifically based information was available regarding gender differences. Myths of the past, psychological and neuroscientific perspectives, gender specific differences for students with genetic and metabolic-based exceptionalities, gender specific changes in behavior through maturation, and the educational implications for gender differences were included. The results indicated that children show developmental differences in expression of emotion, metacognition, and cognition, and the developmental differences are influenced by gender. The purpose of this study was to obtain information regarding the best placement of the ninth grade student in the school organizational pattern. Thirty-six superintendents, seventy-seven high school principals and sixty-four high school teachers, in the state of Washington, responded to a questionnaire-opinionnaire regarding the physical, intellectual, emotional and social maturity level of the ninth grade student. The results showed support for the ninth grade student to be in a four-year high school grade configuration.

This paper investigated the course of the state-dependent function induced by NCFS-ECS at 24 hr. time intervals, beginning at 24 or 48 hrs. after NCFS-ECS treatment and terminating at 120 hrs. Results of both experiments indicate a state-dependent effect lasting up to 72 hrs., was absent at the 96 hr. retention test but, apparently returned by the 120 hr. retention test. Recommendations included investigation of fixed time intervals after the 120 hr. retention test.

Recently, however, this method has been questioned by leading special educators. A group of fifty-one kindergarten children (23 boys and 28 girls) from Central School in Hoquiam, Washington, were studied for the purpose of evaluating changes occurring during the school year in terms of readiness and academic growth. A series of tests were given in October and November as an inventory of the child's background of skills and readiness in the fall, and the tests were repeated in May to measure any change occurring during the school year.

This experiment was designed to extinguish a sixth grade boy's undesirable classroom behaviors by the complete withdrawal of teacher attention, and to develop and increase in successive approximations, the child's desirable classroom behaviors by frequent and intermittent teacher attention. The study was meant to be: (a) research replicating numerous other similar studies, but in addition be a behavior modification experiment conducted in a regular classroom setting in an elementary school and in as practical a way as possible for a teacher with 30 students, and (b) a response to a request from the boy's teachers for service and help.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between anxiety and achievement, and anxiety level and sex. The anxiety level was measured by the Institute for Personality and Ability Testing (IPAT) Anxiety Scale Questionnaire. Specifically, this study investigated how assessed anxiety relates to the achievement of students in Junior level Psychology courses. The courses were Human Growth and Development. Further, the difference in anxiety levels between sexes was studied.
