The object of this research is to emphasize the importance of memory in the professional environment and to suggest a change in the direction of educational plans to endow students with a powerful cognitive tool – memory - for the rest of their lives. Presently, memory is a fundamental human function that the educational process dismisses, making learning more difficult. “Listening to the SONG of Life” is a pedagogical framework that conceptualizes listening as a multi-sensory experience in four contexts: Self, Others, Nature, and God/Goddess (the Divine). L-SONG (Listening-SONG) is an instrument developed to measure student learning in four contexts during a listening course.
