It is possible that interruptions cannot be completely eliminated, but from this study it is hoped that teachers and administrators will be able to evaluate their particular situations and minimize interruption problems. Other purposes of the study have been to determine the origin of interruptions and the relationship between disciplinary problems and classroom interruptions. Also included will be an evaluation of teaching duties that reduce teachers’ instructional time.

It is the purpose of this study (1) to survey the general nature of current practices in handwriting of the schools within the state of Washington which are classed as a group two and three according to the Washington Education Association’s Thirty-Fourth annual Teachers’ Salary Study; and (2) to determine the relative importance of handwriting in the intermediate curriculum of these schools.

It was the purpose of this study (1) to establish the strengths and weaknesses of beginning teachers as seen by themselves and by their supervisors; (2) to compile suggestions of the beginning teachers and their supervisors for the improvement of the college preparatory program made in the light of the reported strengths and weaknesses; and (3) to analyze the reported strengths and weaknesses of beginning teachers and the suggestions for improvement for the specific purpose of making recommended changes in the teacher preparation curriculum.

This study is concerned with the relationship between defects of articulation in speech and emotional instability in elementary school children. The general procedure followed throughout the study involved a comparison of children having articulatory defects with speech normal children for personal and social adjustment.

It is the purpose of this document (1) to present original compositions as musical settings for selected children’s poetry that can be used as suitable material to supplement the singing activities of the elementary grades; (2) to assist, through the use of these original compositions, in developing more desirable attitudes toward the appreciation of new sounds and ideas found in modern and contemporary music; and (3) to stimulate a greater appreciation of children’s poetry through the examples used in this study.
