This study aims to investigate about the school principal’s leadership characteristics in terms of their significance and implementation from the perspective Al-Ain schools teachers. Hence, the study employed the quantitative method to collect data about the principals descriptors reviewed in the previous studies. The sample consists of 500 teachers; 200 males and 300 females randomly selected from each school. The study investigated the significance of the principal’s descriptors as well as their significance and to what extent they are implemented by Principals. In June 2013, the Bastow Institute of Educational Leadership commissioned the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) to conduct an independent review of Framework for School Leaders (DLF). The brief was to conduct a critical assessment of the content, design, and usability of the Developmental Leadership Framework and make recommendations to the Director of the Bastow Institute of Educational Leadership, on the capacity of the Leadership Framework to adequately support professional learning and certification into the future.

Three schools provide education to the Clan groups that comprise the Yolnu cultural groups of the Layanhpuy region. This case study provides an overview of community demographics, language and culture, including bilingual education, school leadership and governance and community leadership. Professional learning strategies inlude working collaboratively with Senior Cultural Advisers. This case study funded through the More Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Teachers' Initiative (MATSITI) was developed from a review of documents prepared by the school, inclding the Annual Operational Plan, a review of literature, and structured conversations held with the principals of the schools.

West Arnhem College - Gunbalanya School is a remote Aboriginal school located 320 kilometres east of Darwin NT. This case study has been developed from a review of documents prepared by the School including the Annual Operational Plan, a review of literature, and structured conversations held with the two principals of the School and the Director of School Performance. Gunbalanya School uses a co-principal model, which means an Indigenous school principal works collaboratively with a non-Indigenous school principal. The purposes of this qualitative multiple case study were to determine the catalysts and pathways that caused principals to move from managers to effective leaders. Data were collected through a series of interviews with 4 principals who were selected through a purposeful sampling procedure. The interviews were audio recorded, transcribed, and analyzed using inductive coding to determine themes. Findings were presented for each theme within the context of reviewed literature.

Texas districts approved Update 93 from the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) in spring 2012. The policy update called for use of culturally relevant materials in school districts’ implementation of their instructional program. The policy uses seventeen words to describe resources necessary to deliver, support, enrich, and assist in implementing the district’s educational program: materials that “represent many ethnic, religious, and cultural groups and their contributions to the national heritage and world community”. Charter schools have emerged as a powerful force in American school reform. When first introduced in 1991, charter schools came with two distinct promises: to serve as an escape hatch for students in failing schools, and to create and incubate new educational practices. Through qualitative inquiry, this study examines a charter school’s best practices and how some of these practices can be applied or emulated in a traditional public school setting. Traditionally, school leadership has been viewed as emanating from a sole source, the school administrator. This top-down perspective suggests that school leadership lives and dies by the leader's specific skills, mind-set, and preferred activities. This perspective ultimately oversimplifies the difficult work that school administrators must navigate in order to ensure the success of all learners. While there is no doubt that many individual school administrators are empathetic and compassionate educators, unilateral decision-making means that the cultural, linguistic and social lenses utilized to inform decision-making are limited to the perspective of the administrator.

The purpose of the present study was to examine whether organizational culture varies as a function of institutional type in higher education, and to identify whether there exists congruence between organizational culture type and leader behavior. Utilizing the Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument (OCAI) developed by Cameron and Quinn (2011), data were collected from a sample of academic deans (n = 84) representing the colleges and universities across five states of the Upper Midwest. Despite multiple efforts to reform 21st education to better meet the needs of all students, school improvement successes have been sporadic and debatable. Research suggests that significant improvement lies within the purview of teachers and principals, and this current research provided the underpinnings for the study. Based on neuroscience research and the continuous improvement concept, I examined linkages between principals' social intelligence and teachers' continuous improvement. In this companion dissertation findings are reported of applied case study research on four community college organizational units that consistently meet or exceed standard performance measures. Ample prior evidence confirmed that performance extended significantly beyond what might be explained by available tangible resources alone. The case study contexts are common in higher education in general: a) an external partnership, (b) an ad hoc team, (c) a traditional, cross-divisional service unit, and (d) a grant-funded student service unit.
