The purpose of this study was to determine if there is a relationship between dual enrollment engagement and the completion of a certificate or diploma at a Tennessee College of Applied Technology. Other factors such as demographics of race and age was considered as well. This study is useful in providing further information on the transition from secondary to postsecondary education. The purpose of this study was examine if legislation that greatly impacted the number of students taking dual enrollment courses in the state of Georgia was having an impact of CTAE programs in seven, rural school districts in southeast Georgia. This study employed a mixed methods research design. Quantitative data supplied by the Georgia Department of Education regarding enrollment numbers, as well as qualitative data gathered by the utilization of an open-ended questionnaire, were analyzed conjunctly to ascertain if an impact existed. This study examines dual enrollment activities and their impact with a focus on equitable recruitment, persistence, and targeted success mechanisms for Black students and students from low-income families. The lived experiences of four former students from diverse racial and socio-economic backgrounds, and the perspectives of ten dual enrollment practitioners garnered from a purposeful sampling of two Southwestern Pennsylvania universities inform the study. A qualitative approach examines interviews, focus group, and survey data through thematic investigative interpretation to yield common and unique experiences and perspectives relevant to recruitment processes, funding, support systems, and observed outcomes. The purpose of this quantitative study was to determine if undergraduate students perceived that their college readiness was impacted by participation in Advanced Placement courses, dual-enrollment courses, or both. Perceptual data were gathered from freshmen and sophomores enrolled at East Tennessee State University using an online survey. The number of participants in this study was 265. Perceptions of the individual program components of both Advanced Placement and dual-enrollment courses were also assessed in relation to college readiness. The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship of dual enrollment course participation by comparing first-time, full-time traditional community college students who participated in dual enrollment (N=246) to peers (N=986) that did not participate. Dual enrollment participation was defined as taking one or more dual enrollment courses. The population for this study (N=1,232) included first-time, full-time students who graduated from public high schools in the service area of Northeast State Community College over a five year span from 2008 through 2012.
