School leadership in developing countries, with a particular focus on post-conflict and post-disaster, is an area of increasing importance to education researchers. The Deputy Principals' Leadership Development Program (DPLDP) was researched and developed by the Calgary Board of Education from 1983 to 1987. It was conducted for the first time in Western Australia when deputy principals from schools in the Narrogin Education District participated in the program during the period 1989-91.
