Mexico serves as a useful case for the study of privatization in higher education. This chapter looks at Mexico’s transformation from an eminently public system to an increasingly private one. In this chapter, we seek to understand a number of diverse strategies that have driven privatization of higher education in Mexico and to place those strategies in a global context.
