Transition-age youth, ages 14-24 years old, with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) face unique barriers to entering the labor force when exiting high school. These barriers can be even more severe if the youth is from a low-income background. Supported employment (SE) services may help this population overcome these barriers and be employed in competitive integrated employment (CIE) settings. SE provides an employment specialist to guide them through obtaining and retaining a job (McDonough & Whittenburg, 2020; Wehman et al., 2007). This study examined the level of degree on-campus jobs at Eastern Kentucky University assist with the overall student success rate regarding retention, grade point average and degrees awarded to ensure state and other funding sources are maximized. Specifically, this study focuses on major student employers on campus including the Admissions Office, Library Services, Student Life, Campus Recreation, University Housing, and a culmination of Other Departments. Education is designed to prepare all students for productive citizenship. Students with disabilities, however, are employed at lower rates, earning less money, and accruing fewer benefits than their nondisabled peers. In order to design a curriculum that targets employment as an outcome, special educators must determine the needs and expectations of employers. This study compared the perceptions of employers, special education teachers, to learning disabled students .Employers and special education teachers rated work related, communication, personal, and social skills similarly while students with learning disabilities formed in congruent perceptions of the working world.

This paper presents a study of attitudes held by business and industrial employers in the Upper Yakima Valley. Two hundred and four employers provided occupational data and skill needs pertinent to occupations potentially filled by high school graduates. Evaluation of information has been summarized and placed into one of eight occupational groups.

Recommendations are directed to immediate and long-range vocational curriculum revisions of the Upper Yakima Valley Vocational Cooperative. A review of the literature adds validity to this study.

In an effort to offer an effective preparation program for prospective teachers, the institution rrrust first analyze its present status--"What are we now doing?" Such an assessment, a point of reference, is necessary before speculations about modifications can be put into action. The problem undertaken in this study was to ascertain the status of the 1969 teacher education graduates from Central Washington State College in regard to their major field of preparation and subsequent placerrent within, or outside that field of preparation.
