This research aims at developing a problem-based local history module as learning media to improve the critical thinking ability of Senior High School students. This research employed a research and development (R&D) method referring to ADDIE development design. The procedure of designing ADDIE development included (1) analyzing to identify the learning media needed, (2) designing to organize the material of module corresponding to basic competency and indicator, (3) developing to obtain the finished product of module through validation and limited and large-scale trials, (4) implementing the module during learning process, and (5) evaluating to find out the effectiveness of module. …

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan sebuah alat ukur (tes) berpikir kritis yang valid dan reliabel untuk digunakan, baik dalam lingkup pendidikan maupun kerja di Indonesia. Tahapan penelitian dilakukan berdasarkan tahap pengembangan tes menurut Hambleton dan Jones (1993). Kisi-kisi dan pembuatan butir didasarkan pada konsep dalam tes Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal (WGCTA). Pada WGCTA, berpikir kritis terdiri dari lima dimensi yaitu Inference, Recognition Assumption, Deduction, Interpretation dan Evaluation of arguments. Uji coba tes dilakukan pada 1.453 peserta tes seleksi karyawan di Surabaya, Gresik, Tuban, Bojonegoro, Rembang. This study aims to obtain a valid and reliable formative evaluation model of critical thinking. The method used in this research was the research and development by integrating Borg & Gall's model and Plomp's development model. The ten steps Borg & Gall's model were modified into five stages as the stages in the Plomp's model. The subjects in this study were 1,446 students of junior high schools in DIY, 14 mathematics teacher, and six experts.
