The Learning Federation (TLF) project employs emerging technologies to produce online curriculum content to encourage student learning and support teachers in Australian and New Zealand schools. Teachers and students in 20 schools participated in a field trial of a differentiated curriculum model that incorporated online curriculum content and associated assessment components. The most important innovation in e-learning in recent years has been the development of Learning Design software. Learning Design is based on the process' of learning rather than on the content to be learnt. The Learning Activity Management System (LAMS) is a new public domain, e-learning platform that enables educators to plan and implement sequences of collaborative learning activities. These 'learning sequences' are analogous to the traditional lesson plans that have always been an integral part of quality teaching.
