While research on VR gaming and Exergaming is in its infancy, both are interventions that have demonstrated positive results such as promoting physical activity participation and positive attitudes towards physical activity in children and adolescents. Exergaming has also been shown to be effective in increasing physical activity in children, and children with disabilities may find exergaming to be an enjoyable alternative to traditional physical activity due to increased accessibility and the focus on both gross and fine motor skills. Within traditional American public colleges and universities, there is an emphasis on academic student success within the structures and values of educational programs, and the lack of a holistic approach to higher education may be negatively impacting college student development and well-being. Literature suggests school administrator shortages worldwide. A number of factors are blamed for this trend, one of which is overall job dissatisfaction. This case study examines the effects of social media on the overall job satisfaction of five school administrators in small town America. Through semi-structured interviews, this research indicates that school administrators in the study avoid reading the comments section of online news media forums. This thesis project details a mentoring model developed for the Hoopa Valley Tribe to improve the academic performance of Native American students. The subject of academic performance of Native American students encompasses many issues and barriers. While the barriers are many, the Hoopa Tribal Learning Center could not examinate all of the barriers, therefore a mentoring program was designed to help students navigate through the barriers by providing culturally appropriate, structured mentoring support.
