The system that once motivated Americans to pursue science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers now presents obstacles to racial and ethnic minorities, women, and the poor. The HPST Framework, a guide developed for document analysis (Pombo,2015), was implemented in a post secondary transition program at Florida International University. The purpose of this study was to explore the necessary adaptions for the implementation with students with ID at the university level as well as their reading comprehension outcomes.
