This comparative case study aimed to explore how Covid-19 related school closures impacted continuity of teaching and learning in six K-12 schools in the West-African countries of Senegal, The Gambia, and Guinea-Bissau. Thematic analysis was conducted using an inductive approach. While this study reveals the stark reality of the digital divide among the schools, emerging themes show how some schools have adapted to the new reality of teaching and learning in the age of Covid-19.

Background: Andrews University’s administration acknowledges the university’s obligation to seek higher levels of community engagement. The relatively recent adoption of the motto—Seek knowledge, Affirm faith, Change the world—speaks to the intent of the organization to become an agent for positive change. The purpose of this literature review is to address how internalized and externalized behaviors in adolescents impact academic achievement in faith-based institutions. This research intends to bring awareness to the prevalence of mental health concerns faced by adolescents, as well as the need for mental health services in the education system.
