This dissertation aims to investigate the impact of Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL)-based instruction versus lecture-based instruction on Grade 12 students’ performance in circular motion unit, self-efficacy, and attitudes. Four research questions guided the study. A quasi-experimental, pretest-posttest design was adopted as a methodology to investigate and assess the impact of POGIL-based instruction versus lecture-based instruction on students’ performance as measured by three types of cognitive outcomes; Knowing, Applying and Reasoning (KAR).
