Elementary music is a field that many people would agree is important, but the subject does not always get an equal opportunity when stacked up against subjects that are regulated with standardized tests, such as math or language arts. I set out to study elementary music programs in the region where I am employed (the Four State Region of Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma) in the Midwest. This descriptive study was designed to explore, describe, and compare singleton and non-singleton Pittsburg State University Chinese students, who self-reported their independent and dependent personality characteristics. Data for this study were obtained from a survey instrument developed by this investigator and administrated to volunteer Chinese students (Mainland or Taiwan) enrolled in 2010 fall semester at Pittsburg State University. Participation was voluntary and anonymity was assured. No statistically significant differences were found in independent and dependent personality characteristics among singleton and non-singleton Chinese college students at Pittsburg State University. This study was a comparison of the discussion method and the experimental method of presenting related information of factual nature to eighth grade junior high school students in the general shop. The population for this study was eighth grade boys enrolled in an Industrial Arts General Shop at the Northwest Junior High School in Kansas City, Kansas. The evaluation instruments in this study were objective tests designed to evaluate the information that groups of students received in the experiment. An attempt was made to encourage drafting supervisors of Arizona’s industries to point out areas in which beginning draftsmen were weak and in need of improved instruction. These supervisors were also encouraged to express their views on possible methods for correcting these weaknesses that might exist. Sixty-eight firms participated in the study. The study revealed a need for improvement in most of the areas of basic drafting practices. The purpose of this study was to compare the relative effectiveness of a conventional face-to-face demonstration with a closed-circuit televised demonstration on trouble-shooting with the Simpson Volt-Ohm-Meter. Special emphasis was placed on problems the ordinary shop instructor would have in presenting a demonstration by television. Data for the experimental comparison of the conventional demonstration with the televised demonstration were obtained by the parallel group technique. The purpose of this study was to determine the qualifications required for successful saleswork as interpreted by employers who hire salespeople, the salespeople themselves, the consumers who buy from salespeople, and the instructors who teach salesmanship in the two-year colleges of Kansas. Data was collected by means of a check list filled out by sixteen retail employers, fourteen retail salespeople, ten traveling salespeople, eight door-to-door salespeople, thirteen salespeople who sell a service, twelve consumers, and thirteen salesmanship instructors. The problem was to make a study of the major areas in which the curriculum in Negro high schools might be expanded to help improve the general well-being of the Negro citizens of Saint Louis, Missouri.

The procedure was to collect data from the records of the Board of Education, secure maps from the City Plan Commission, study the United States census of 1920-1930-1940, and secure data from local welfare and social agencies.
