This study compared cognitive complexity between student groups based on cultural background and academic class utilizing William Perry's (1970) cognitive theory of intellectual and ethical development. In addition, the study examined the influence of gender and socioeconomic status (SES) on cognitive development. The goal was to ascertain whether Perry's theory, developed from his research on a relatively homogeneous college student population without consideration of the impact of a culturally diverse environment, would be valid for culturally diverse students.

The purpose of this phenomenological investigation was to explore the counseling internship experience and gain knowledge of the variables that counselor interns perceived impacted their psychological growth. The interns who volunteered for the study were participating in a counseling internship to complete their requirements for a master's degree from a CACREP accredited institution. This qualitative study was chronicled for phenomenological analysis by conducting four interviews with each intern during their counseling internship. The present study investigated the existence of repetition priming for melody and the extent to which that priming would be affected by the manipulation of frequency. A group of 62 university students and 2 members of the public listened to 20 high frequency and 20 low frequency melodies in the first phase of a repetition priming experiment. Participants were required to name as many melodies as they could as quickly as possible. The same melodies were then re-presented immediately in the second phase of the experiment along with another group of 40 melodies matched in frequency to those in the …
