A lack of financial literacy for many people in the United States is a prominent problem that has largely gone unaddressed, but one that can have devastating results. Currently, 43% of student loan borrowers are not making payments and 33% of American adults have $0 saved for retirement (Pascarella 2-4). These alarming statistics amid a strong economic environment highlight the negative affects a lack of financial literacy can have. Catholic schools in the United States have grappled with how to serve students with disabilities without the funding sources available to public schools. This mixed methods case study examines the driving forces, restraining forces, and social justice issues that influenced the development of an inclusion program at one Catholic elementary school.

The case analyzed is the inclusion program at “St. Ignatius” Elementary School. Fourteen interviews with individuals heavily involved in the program were triangulated with qualitative analyses of the content of artifacts from the inclusion program and quantitative data from a rating scale on ideal inclusive practices completed by ten …

Effects Of Peer Mentoring On Types Of Mentor Support, Program Satisfaction And Graduate Student Stress: A Dyadic Perspective, Ellen A. Ensher, Elisa J. Grant-Vallone

Examines the effects of a graduate student peer-mentoring program from the perspectives of both members of the mentoring dyad, the mentors and proteges. Results indicate that peer mentoring provides students with both increased levels of psychosocial and instrumental support, and that those with high levels of support are more satisfied with their peer mentoring relationships.
