The Student Government Reserve Fund was established in the University of Maine Foundation in 2003 for the benefit of the University of Maine’s undergraduate student leaders. The funds were transferred to the University of Maine Foundation from Student Government, Inc.’s emergency cash reserve.

The fund shall be used to provide annual awards of $500 for every $8,000 in the fund (Market Value.) No partial awards shall be granted. The fund may not necessarily exist in perpetuity. E-mail has generally been used as an informal means of communication. However, as it becomes increasingly popular in the job application process, students need to take time to think through the content of their e-mail and address the message that they might be sending to employers. An e-mail to an employer should never just say "see attached." The receiver may not even open the attachment.
