The purpose of this study is to determine if colors can differentially be applied as teaching tools for pre-school children. Previous studies have shown that pre-school children are easily distracted in language development by external stimulation. Studies have also shown that brighter color hues can arouse and facilitate performance of subjects on given tasks. This experiment is an attempt to measure performance of word manipulation by usage of colors. Three independent variables have been selected as stimuli to measure direct object acquisition. A Series Of Paintings Which Investigate And Present Volume Experience As An Aspect Of Spatial Tension With Hue Variations As A Prime Agent, Carl B. Clapp

This work is concerned with volume as presented in a painting. The investigation begins with a painting of drawn geometric shapes. Each successive painting problem explores additional facets of variations from this basic problem.
There is a total of six painting problems. The general intent of these problems is to investigate the following in regard to volume of experience:
- color contrast in hue, value, intensity, proportion and complement
- pattern variations
- the color phenomenon of simultaneous contrast
The medium is acrylic polymer emulsion applied with brush on stretch canvas.
