This thesis is a historical report of the facts which led to the organization of the North American Baptist Association, from the meeting of the American Baptist Association in Lakeland, Florida, in 1950, through the year 1963. It also is a review of the foundational principles up which the Association was founded and stood, noting particularly the position held on Church equality and Church cooperation in promoting a world-wide mission program.

The originality of Frederick Jackson Turner can be recognized against a background consisting of evidence of his contributions to the two fields, history and teaching. The stage will be set by a short biographical treatment of Turner. This avenue of approach will lead to an elaboration of Turner's major historical interpretation. This concept will be described and two subordinate facets of his thesis will be examined briefly. The purpose of this study is to determine the place of music theory in the curricula of seven selected colleges in Arkansas through a survey of the departments of music of these schools. This study is approached through comparison of semester hour requirements in theory, content of harmony courses, class procedures, and sims of the faculties.

Studies reveal that industrial arts teachers use principles, laws, and applications of mathematics and science daily, but these are seldom recognized and made meaningful to the students. The purpose was to investigate and trace the establishment, growth, and philosophy of the Presbyterian church schools in New Mexico. It was also an attempt to determine the relationship of these schools to public education.

This was a historical research. Reports of the Governor and Superintendent of Public Instruction in New Mexico were used. It was the writer's purpose to determine the reason students discontinued seminary before obtaining a fourth-year certificate from the Burley L. D. S. Seminary between the years 1961-1965. In addition to this, means of helping to solve the problems of the students who discontinued seminary were sought. Questionnaires were sent to 92 students who had discontinued seminary; a questionnaire was also given to 61 students who were still in seminary. The results of these questionnaires were tabulated by the Brigham Young University Data Processing Service. Of the 92 students who discontinued seminary and received questionnaires, 66 (70 per cent) were …

The present research attempts to discover a type of Buddhist curriculum which will best suit the needs and interests of the high school senior (twelfth grader) Buddhists in the United States. The present Buddhist Churches of America recommended curriculum in use covers only the pre-school through the eighth grades. There is an obvious need for a Buddhist curriculum in the important upper grades. As this proposed curriculum is directed to twelfth graders, the compilation of a curriculum for the other three grades {ninth, tenth, and eleventh) still remains to be completed.

The purpose of this study was to determine whether LDS sophomore and junior seminary students have significant differences of concern about concepts and attitudes contained in each of the thirty-five Directional Objectives which guide the curriculum of the Seminary System of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The study involved LDS Seminary students from the Burley, Idaho; Arimo, Idaho and Ogden (Weber) Utah seminaries, and consisted of 164 sophomore and 109 junior students.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has always possessed a vigorous concept of the value of education for its youth. Programs of religious instruction have encouraged the young people to further their understanding of religious concepts. In July, 1953, all of the Church educational institutions, except those in the islands of the Pacific, were combined into one organization and named The Unified Church School System.
