A Review Of Xr Classrooms In Institutions Of Higher Education, Brandon Patterson, Tallie Casucci
A Review Of Xr Classrooms In Institutions Of Higher Education, Brandon Patterson, Tallie Casucci
Frameless
This talk will review the literature and examine existing physical spaces using virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), often referred together as extended reality (XR), to teach learners in an academic setting. Attendees will better understand best practices and ways of addressing potential challenges when designing a physical XR classroom space for higher education. A physical XR classroom provides institutions with a dedicated space for educational courses and workshops, which utilize XR for both one- off sessions and an entire semester (Pirker, Holly, and Gütl 2020). The talk will help answer the question, why a dedicated XR classroom?
A Survey Of College Students With Learning Disabilities And Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder To Identify Their Relationship And Use Of College Disability Resource Centers, Telia M. West
All Graduate Plan B and other Reports, Spring 1920 to Spring 2023
College students with learning disabilities (LD) and/or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) complete college at lower rates than their non-disabled peers (Newman & Madaus, 2015). This project examined the factors that led students with LD and/or ADHD to initially contact their college DRC. This project examined data from 61 college students pursuing an undergraduate degree with LD and/or ADHD who had already contacted their DRC. A survey was sent to those students asking about circumstances surrounding their …

Research Brief: "Experiences Of Veterans Transitioning To Postsecondary Education", Institute For Veterans And Military Families At Syracuse University
Institute for Veterans and Military Families
This study found that more than 500,000 veterans are currently enrolled in post-secondary education (PSE), with more expected to enter as active duty deployment is scaled back, while there are three major challenges: repurposing their military experience, reconstructing their civilian identity, and navigating PSE. In practice, veterans enrolled in post-secondary education (PSE) should continue utilizing services available to them both on and off campus. In policy, policymakers might consider allocating additional funds to VRCs on university campuses, and the Department of Defense (DoD) might offer additional resources to transitioning service members to help smooth the process. Suggestions for future study …
