To achieve success businesses enunciate values and mission, secure resources, develop capabilities, and execute strategies. For firms to succeed, managers must make decision about what should remain, be abandoned and acquired or developed? In the decision-making process, management often overlooks, compromises, neglects, and dismisses the firm’s history, unique industry position, and fundamental strengths in a single-minded focus on the future.
