During my years at University at Albany, I have studied accounting that is based on the United States regulation, GAAP. As I am from British Columbia, Canada, that uses a different standard, IFRS, I wanted to take this opportunity to research the differences between GAAP and IFRS. Not only did World War II bring about changes to the economy and policy in the United States, it also changed women's fashion and, consequently, the way in which women's fashion was presented through marketing efforts. This study is an investigation of how changing social norms, as seen in various marketing material, may have impacted women's attire before and after World War II. Introduction: Harm reduction has been a movement for social justice built on a belief in, and respect for, the rights of people who use drugs. It has been defined as a set of practical strategies and ideas aimed at reducing negative consequences associated with drug use. The U.S. has been experiencing an opioid/heroin epidemic, with significant increases in overdose death among drug users with more than 72,000 Americans having died from drug overdoses in 2017.

U.S. manufacturing companies' offshoring of investments to China over the past 4 decades before 2017 has played a significant role in China's economic growth. However, as China's economy expands and the country's standard of living improves, U.S. manufacturing executives are required to take a refreshed look at current investment strategies to adjust for rising costs and a tighter regulatory environment. Durante el periodo definido como Guerra Fría se presentó un escenario oportuno para la redefinición de la concepción de seguridad nacional, convirtiéndola en lo que hoy se conoce como Doctrina de Seguridad Nacional. Dicha doctrina se gesta en Estados Unidos, pero se circunscribe en América Latina, bajo unos parámetros donde las fuerzas militares ocupan el lugar del Estado. Frente a ello, el caso de estudio se centra en el periodo de 1973 a 1990 en Chile, época en el cual se dio un régimen dictatorial.
