Economic Feasibility Analysis Of Lion Country Safari Park In Missouri, Economics Research Associates
Harrison "Buzz" Price Papers
In 1972, Lion Country Safari owned and operated animal parks in Florida, California, Texas, and Georgia. Encouraged by their success at these parks, they were evaluating additional markets in which to expand. One of the market areas that was under consideration was the Saint Louis area. A site west of Saint Louis was selected for a safari animal park. Economics Research Associates (ERA) was retained to evaluate the potential market support, and based on projected attendance, to determine the financial feasibility for such a park. The report has the following sections: 1) introduction, 2) summary of major conclusions, 3) site …

The Resources Management Movement (The Coming Death Of Production Management Education), Richard J. Schonberger
The Resources Management Movement (The Coming Death Of Production Management Education), Richard J. Schonberger
Department of Management: Faculty Publications
Production management, taught in nearly all colleges of business administration, is not a popular course. One reason it is not popular is that it does not relate to the typical young student's life experiences. This typical student has for 18 years or more been a social animal, and thus he can relate to college courses in the sociopsychological realm. The rare student who has considerable work experience is the only one likely to appreciate and perhaps even enjoy a course in production management (or operations management, as it is called in some schools).
But this kind of problem is found …

Economic Feasibility Of A Major Theme Park In Toronto (Genesis Of Canada's Wonderland), Economics Research Associates
Harrison "Buzz" Price Papers
In 1972, Conklin Shows was investigating the development of a major theme amusement park in Ontario, Canada. Four tentative sites were being considered: near Brantford, Galt, Milton, and at the Toronto Zoo. The envisioned concept of the park was generally similar in type and scope of development to the Six Flags parks and Cedar Point--that is, a family-oriented attraction featuring permanent rides and other entertainment facilities built around a unifying theme of the history, culture, and love of Ontario province. Prior to making definitive commitments involving site acquisition , financing, and design, management recognized that a professional study of the …

Revised Economic Projections For Sea World -- Florida, Economics Research Associates
Revised Economic Projections For Sea World -- Florida, Economics Research Associates
Harrison "Buzz" Price Papers
In 1972, Sea World was proceeding with plans to develop a water-oriented theme park on property located within five miles of Disney World on Interstate 4 in Orange County, Florida. It was Sea World’s intention to capitalize on the expected large influx of tourists brought to the area by Disney World. Sea World’s concept is to bring together the best elements of its San Diego and Ohio parks with a distinct identity and a level of quality similar to that of Disney World. The capital expenditure of the park was estimated at approximately $12 million. Economics Research Associates was retained …
