In a system with multiple service points, how can leadership work together to keep the library as a whole relevant and central to students? James Madison University Libraries created the Joint Library Services Leadership Team, which works outside traditional departmental silos to provide coherent, consistent, and collaborative services regardless of location.
Three major service points of James Madison University Libraries, the two main library circulation/reference departments and the media resources center, have historically been both physically and philosophically separate from each other. Organizational mergers between libraries and information technology services have become more common in recent years. From curbing administrative costs to improving communication to supporting student and faculty success, merged institutions cite a variety of reasons for joining forces. To deepen community engagement and social inclusion, libraries are adopting new technologies to facilitate a participatory and learning culture. Web applications provide the information technology (IT) implementation of business and align IT with business. Retirement of IT applications should ensure stability of business and IT alignment. The current study investigated the alignment gaps created between business and IT resulting from retiring IT software applications. This paper presents a citation analysis of Internext-Review of International Business to detect the impact caused by papers published for the period 2006-2013. The Publish or Perish (PoP) software is used, which retrieves articles and citations from Google Scholar database. As part of the applied indicators are: the distribution of authors by articles, citations per year, citation vs. self-citation, journal’s citable vs. non citable documents, journal’s cited vs. uncited documents, co-word analysis, and H Index. A total of 131 articles were obtained for 153 citations made until June, 2014. Most articles present multiple authorship. It is also detected an ascending …

This presentation illustrates the collaborative, multi-format approach used in preparing an exhibit of archival materials on the 1913 Dayton flood at the University of Dayton Libraries. Originally formed due to the absence of a University Archivist, the small planning committee was able to combine areas of expertise including archives, history, graphic design, video/audio production, marketing, and digitization. The collaborative process facilitated a creative approach resulting in a unique, interactive exhibit utilizing audio, video, original materials, reproductions, a permanent digital component, and a discussion panel event.
