News media helped individuals think about and understand the impacts of hosting the Olympic Games, enabling them to clarify or construct their own opinions toward an Olympic bid. The purpose of this study was to explore to what extent the public opinion of hosting the Olympic Games was affected by the newspaper media content to which the public was exposed. As more and more international mega events such as the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Universiade Shenzhen 2011,the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games as well as the China National Sports Games take place in different cities, a lot of large-scale sports facilities have been built in China. However, over a long period of time, these large-scale sports facilities struggle with several operational and maintenance problems, such as high maintenance fees, design defects, low use of efficiency, single functionality and management challenges.
