A Configurable Time-Controlled Clustering Algorithm For Wireless Sensor Networks, S. Selvakennedy, Sukunesan Sinnappan Jan 2005

A Configurable Time-Controlled Clustering Algorithm For Wireless Sensor Networks, S. Selvakennedy, Sukunesan Sinnappan

Sydney Business School - Papers

Future large-scale sensor networks may comprise thousands of wirelessly connected sensor nodes that could provide an unimaginable opportunity to interact with physical phenomena in real time. These nodes are typically highly resource-constrained. Since the communication task is a significant power consumer, there are various attempts to introduce energy-awareness at different levels within the communication stack. Clustering is one such attempt to control energy dissipation for sensor data routing. Here, we propose the time-controlled clustering algorithm to realise a network-wide energy reduction by the rotation of clusterhead role, and the consideration of residual energy in its election. A realistic energy model …

Stroke Outcomes In Australia - Five Years Of Aroc Data, Tara L. Stevermuer Jan 2005

Stroke Outcomes In Australia - Five Years Of Aroc Data, Tara L. Stevermuer

Sydney Business School - Papers

Introduction: Many stroke patients, although initially managed in an acute care setting, are admitted to a designated rehabilitation facility. This facility could be a ward in the same acute hospital as their initial treatment, or a ward in a sub-acute hospital. Where the patient receives treatment that meets the AN-SNAP definition of rehabilitation (refer “Definition of Rehabilitation” box) and the facility providing that treatment is a member of the Australasian Rehabilitation Outcomes Centre (AROC), information on their episode of care is reported to the national rehabilitation database held by AROC.

The Role Of Online Profiling, Service Quality, Satisfaction And Loyalty In Developing A Crm Capability: Propositions And Considerations, Jamie Carlson, Ranjit Voola, Sukunesan Sinnappan Jan 2005

The Role Of Online Profiling, Service Quality, Satisfaction And Loyalty In Developing A Crm Capability: Propositions And Considerations, Jamie Carlson, Ranjit Voola, Sukunesan Sinnappan

The Internet has the ability to profile online customers to develop effective customer relationship management (CRM) strategies for e-commerce that requires interaction and coordination between various resources within an organization. However, limited research exists in understanding CRM as an outcome of the interaction between various resources, as well as an organizational capability. This paper applies the Resource Based View of the firm to propose an integrated framework in the management of a CRM capability and suggests that this capability comprises managing the interactions between recently developed concepts such as online-profiling, service quality, satisfaction and loyalty.

Evaluation Of A Midwifery Model Of Care, Kathryn E. Williams, A. Lainchbury, Kathy Eagar Jan 2005

Evaluation Of A Midwifery Model Of Care, Kathryn E. Williams, A. Lainchbury, Kathy Eagar

Sydney Business School - Papers

Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) is a model of care designed to provide 'low risk' pregnant women with continuous care by one midwife throughout pregnancy, labour and birth and the early postnatal period. A one-year trial of this model concluded in June 2005 at Wollongong Hospital.

Evaluation of the MGP program focused on clinical outcomes and consumer acceptance. Data sources included peer reviews of selected cases and satisfaction surveys of the women who took part. During the antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum periods, midwives noted any deviations from normal and followed specified criteria for consultation and referral to other health professionals. Women …

The Foundations Of Legal Citizenship: Community Law, Access To, Justice And The Community Legal Sector, Mark D. Rix, Scott Burrows Jan 2005

The Foundations Of Legal Citizenship: Community Law, Access To, Justice And The Community Legal Sector, Mark D. Rix, Scott Burrows

Sydney Business School - Papers

The conventional role of community legal centres (CLCs) is as specialists in community law. As specialists in community law. CLCs playa vital role in giving practical meaning to the notion of legal citizenship and to the concept of the citizen within the communities they serve. CLCs should also be seen as having a broader role beyond community law, one that encompasses legal citizenship. This concept of a broader role for CLCs is alien to the way most government funding authorities, CLC clients and many CLCs view themselves. However, viewing CLCs in terms of legal citizenship provides an opportunity to focus …

The Time Controlled Clustering Algorithm For Optimised Data Dissemination In Wireless Sensor Networks, S. Selvakennedy, Sukunesan Sinnappan Jan 2005

The Time Controlled Clustering Algorithm For Optimised Data Dissemination In Wireless Sensor Networks, S. Selvakennedy, Sukunesan Sinnappan

Sydney Business School - Papers

As the communication task is a significant power consumer, there are many attempts to improve energy efficiency. Node clustering, to reduce direct transmission to the base station, is one such attempt to control data dissemination. Here, we derived the optimal number of clusters for TCCA clustering algorithm based on a realistic energy model using results in stochastic geometry.

Website Quality In The Australian Electronic Marketspace: Application Of The Webqual Tm Instrument, Sukunesan Sinnappan, Jamie Carlson, Banu P. Sukunesan Jan 2005

Website Quality In The Australian Electronic Marketspace: Application Of The Webqual Tm Instrument, Sukunesan Sinnappan, Jamie Carlson, Banu P. Sukunesan

The issue of assessing the quality of a Website has received growing attention from academics and practitioners. This study applies the newly developed WebQual™ framework developed by Loiacono et al. (2002), to empirically assess if the quality of Australian Website’s impact the purchase intentions and site revisit intentions in electronic markets across three industry groups. The study further highlights relevant managerial implications for managing Website quality, and directions for future research are discussed.
