A lack of access to finance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) negatively impacts their business growth. SME leaders who lack strategies to access finance for growth may observe a stagnation in the growth of their organizations. Grounded in the resource-based view, the purpose of this qualitative multiple case study was to explore strategies SME leaders use to access finance for growth. Participants were six SME business leaders from Rome (Italy) and Cairo (Egypt). Data were collected through semistructured interviews and reviews of company documents.
