This paper argues the reasons for limited compatibility of western strategic approaches with production relations in Sri Lankan tea plantation sector from findings of case study research. Reasons for this include the great diversity within the sector in relation to key issues including caste and class, ethnic groups and their political groupings, and in particular to modes of production which span traditional, capitalist and state capitalist models. Managers in developing countries struggle to assimilate such prescriptive perspectives and frameworks into their firms in response to external pressures. Since cluster development factors become a critical issue in the debate of the industrial cluster literature, several scholars have attempted to seek the variables that influence the cluster growth. This paper presents the case of the wood furniture cluster of Bukir- Indonesia to explain the development of SME clusters by identifying its influential factors. We utilize the model proposed by Parrilli (2009) that includes collective efficiency, social capital, and policy inducement variables to explore the driving factors of this cluster growth. SMEs with higher levels of Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) have been found to perform better than those, which lack such orientatiol1. The dimensions of EO, namely autonomy, innovativeness, risktaking, proactive, and competitive aggressiveness contribute to firm performance independently. However, these EO dimensions are considered insufficient for the SMEs to enter global markets. This paper provides a brief overview of the Australian National Continence Management Strategy with respect to its activities related to the assessment of incontinence, the use of measures to evaluate the outcomes of incontinence treatment interventions, and the production of Australian prevalence and burden of disease estimates.
It highlights the Continence Outcomes Measurement Suite (COMS) project, in particular, which has moved through a number of developmental stages. The Internet has the ability to profile online customers to develop effective customer relationship management (CRM) strategies for e-commerce that requires interaction and coordination between various resources within an organization. However, limited research exists in understanding CRM as an outcome of the interaction between various resources, as well as an organizational capability. This paper applies the Resource Based View of the firm to propose an integrated framework in the management of a CRM capability and suggests that this capability comprises managing the interactions between recently developed concepts such as online-profiling, service quality, satisfaction and loyalty.
