The Netherlands National Tourist Office, in conjunction with Rijkswaterstaat, was planning the development of a major new entertainment/educational complex designed to commemorate the long history of Dutch struggle against the sea. The proposed development was tentatively called Water Wonderland and was planned for development at a site near Lelystad, Netherlands as well as an alternative site near Willemstad. The study focuses on delineating economic and physical planning parameters necessary to develop Water Wonderland at a site in the Netherlands that would be both commercially and financially viable.
