Electronic Theses and Dissertations
The purpose of this study was to forecast what the competitive retail environment will resemble in the grocery industry in the year 2010, what measures a company must take to prepare to compete in the predicted environment, and what internal organizational structure will help to facilitate a company's competitive strategy in 2010. The study was conducted using the Delphi Technique. It is a forecasting mechanism designed to build consensus using an expert Delphi Committee. Marketing Acceptance And Its Relationship To Selected Institutional Characteristics In Higher Education Institutions, Melanie G. Narkawicz
Marketing Acceptance And Its Relationship To Selected Institutional Characteristics In Higher Education Institutions, Melanie G. Narkawicz
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
This study examined the level of acceptance of marketing by colleges and universities in the United States. It was based upon the "Four Stage Model Reflecting the Acceptance of Marketing in Higher Education Institutions" developed by Simmons and Laczniak (1992). The primary purposes of this study were to validate the model and to identify the operational level of marketing acceptance at colleges and universities. Secondary purposes were to determine if the level of acceptance differed according to source of control/affiliation (public v. private), highest level of degree awarded (associate, baccalaureate, master's, doctors), regional location, urban location, and institutional size. Variables …

The Evolution Of Shopping Center Research: A Review And Analysis, Mark Eppli, John D. Benjamin
The Evolution Of Shopping Center Research: A Review And Analysis, Mark Eppli, John D. Benjamin
Finance Faculty Research and Publications
Retail research has evolved over the past sixty years. Christaller's early work on central place theory, with its simplistic combination of range and threshold has been advanced to include complex consumer shopping patterns and retailer behavior in agglomerated retail centers. Hotelling's seminal research on competition in a spatial duopoly has been realized in the form of comparison shopping in regional shopping centers. The research that has followed Christaller and Hoteling has been as wide as it has been deep, including literature in geography, economics, finance, marketing, and real estate.
In combination, the many extensions of central place theory and retail …
New Lamb Marketing Opportunities, Tim Marshall
New Lamb Marketing Opportunities, Tim Marshall
Journal of the Department of Agriculture, Western Australia, Series 4
The changes to the future operations of the Western Australian Meat Marketing Corporation will provide increased opportunities for prime lamb producers.
In summary, these changes are the removal of acquisition from the domestic market while retaining it for lambs destined for export, and the establishment of the Corporation as a single desk seller on the export market.
This should result in increased domestic consumption of lamb, less reliance on lower priced export markets, a change in the type of lamb produced, and a reduction of imports of lamb from the Eastern States.
Holding Our Edge In Noodle Wheat, Graham Crosbie
Holding Our Edge In Noodle Wheat, Graham Crosbie
Journal of the Department of Agriculture, Western Australia, Series 4
For many years, the Japanese milling and noodle industries have regarded Australian Standard White (ASW) wheat from Western Australia as the best in the world for the manufacture of white, salted Japanese noodles known as 'udon' (pronounced oo-don).
Recently, the Australian Wheat Board has also developed a significant market for this wheat type in South Korea, where it has been readily accepted for the production of Korean dried noodles.
The Wheat Board has estimated the total market demand from Japan and South Korea for this type of wheat to be 1.0-1.2 million tonnes, equivalent to about 20-25 per cent of …

The authors report the results of their study of forty technologically innovative Belgian companies to examine the interaction between marketing and R&D. They studied one commercially successful and one commercially unsuccessful technological product innovation project in each participating company and collected data from one marketing and one R&D respondent per project. Communication flows between marketing and R&D are increased under conditions involving formalization of projects, decentralization, positive inter-functional climate, and role flexibility.
Machiavellianism And Sales Performance, Clifford J. Shultz
Machiavellianism And Sales Performance, Clifford J. Shultz
School of Business: Faculty Publications and Other Works
The relationship between Machiavellianism and sales performance is emotionally charged. Few comments evoke more passionate responses from sales professionals and scholars of personal selling and sales management than the mere hint that selling might be Machiavellian. Yet while frequently debated, the topic is generally misunderstood.
This article is intended to clarify the misunderstanding surrounding this relationship by explaining the concept of Machiavellianism, and by examining empirical data on Machiavellianism and sales performance. Recent findings suggest the success or failure of Machiavellian tactics used during personal selling appears to be related to the organisational structure of the firm for which sales …
