This study analyzes the impact of Covid-19 on stock market liquidity of China and four worst hit countries by the pandemic. Using daily data for the stock market illiquidity spanning over July 1, 2019 to July 10, 2020 and the data for new cases and deaths over the period from December 31, 2019 to July 10, 2020, the results of our GARCH analysis show that liquidity in stock markets of all the sampled countries hit hard by the news of the Covid-19 outbreak. Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) are responsible for more than seventy-five percent of the hotel ownership structure in the USA. The effects of COVID-19 restrictions on hotel REITs were devastating due to the unpredictability of revenues and cash flows, directly impacting managerial decisions on how to adapt REITs' capital structure quickly. This paper used quarterly hotel REIT financial data of the 18 most representative U.S. H-REITs from January 2015 through December 2020 to understand the moderating effects of COVID-19 on hotel REITs' capital structure determinants. An Examination Of The Effect Of The Coronavirus Pandemic On Firm Value In Egypt: A Panel Pmg/Ardl Approach, Wafaa Salah, Lela Pumphrey

This study investigates the short-and long-term consequences of coronavirus-induced declines in firm activity on firm value. This association was explored explicitly at both the market and industry levels. The panel data covers the period from March 19,2020,to June 25,2020,for 136 publicly traded non-financial companies. The panel pooling mean group/Autoregressive Distributed Lag estimate method is utilized to investigate the Coronavirus's short-and long-term effects on firm value. The primary findings indicate that the pandemic negatively impactedthe daily stock returns of all industries besides healthcare. This study aims to analyze the Indonesian capital market reaction to the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) policy in Jakarta in 2020. The findings from this study can be used as a policy evaluation and as a reference to assess similar future policies to be implemented in Jakarta. Four event periods were used based on the number of times this policy was implemented in 2020. We study shifts in the ideal worker culture as experienced by working mothers across organizations in the United States during the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on the experiences of 53 interviewees in how they attended to increased responsibilities across both work and family domains, we saw an entrenchment of the ideal worker culture across nearly all organizations and professions. Paper investigates the impact on student engagement from converting traditional face-to-face classes to online in response to Covid-19. In particular, this study investigated the impact of conversion to online on four different types of student engagement: (1) participation engagement, (2) emotional engagement, (3) skill engagement, and (4) performance engagement. Survey data were collected from 160 business students who had their face-to-face classes converted to online due to Covid-19. Results of study show that all four types of student engagement significantly declined when classes were converted to online. During the Covid-19 pandemic, dog adoption rates skyrocketed, restaurants focused on outdoor seating, and travelers pivoted away from tightly packed planes out of safety concerns. This study surveyed dog owners in the United States to determine whether pet attachment levels could predict dog owners’ likelihood of traveling with their dogs. In addition, it used Um and Crompton’s (1992) facilitators and inhibitors to establish how different factors affect a dog owner’s likelihood of traveling with their dog. Global and local whole genome sequencing of SARS-CoV-2 enables the tracing of domestic and international transmissions. We sequenced Viral RNA from 37 sampled Covid-19 patients with RT-PCR-confirmed infections across the UAE and developed time-resolved phylogenies with 69 local and 3,894 global genome sequences. Furthermore, we investigated specific clades associated with the UAE cohort and, their global diversity, introduction events and inferred domestic and international virus transmissions between January and June 2020. Job dissatisfaction among women working in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields costs the United States up to $1.5 billion per year. Understanding work-life balance is important for pharmaceutical leaders to assist in enhancing job satisfaction for women in science. Grounded in the work-life balance theory, the purpose of this quantitative correlational study was to examine workload and work-family conflict in predicting job satisfaction for women in science. By looking at the widening of credit spreads on corporate bonds, a shield can be observed through the disproportionate way Covid affects hard-hit companies compared to their suppliers. Coffee production in Vietnam has increased almost 100-fold within the past three decades, positioning it to become the second-largest coffee exporter in the world after Brazil. The U.S. is a top market for Vietnamese coffee. In this study, we estimate a conditional demand system of expenditure share equations for coffee from Vietnam, Brazil, Colombia, and an aggregate of seven other countries in the U.S. coffee market using the Linear Approximation Almost Ideal Demand System (LA/AIDS) and based on monthly time-series data from 2000 to 2020 with a total of 252 observations.
