Student Scholar Symposium Abstracts and Posters
Chapman University accommodates over 1700 student meal plans per day through the on-campus dining services provided by Sodexo Restaurant Services. The commercial-grade kitchens found in the Randall Dining Commons (RDC) of Sandhu Conference Center are frequently used to prepare food for students for every meal, seven days a week. The RDC kitchen facility has staff working around the clock and high consumption electrical, water, and gas appliances constantly running to parallel the high demand. The frequent use of commercial kitchen appliances results in an enormous consumption of energy and water resources leading to comparably high utility bills. Measuring the energy …
Management And Telework, Arlene J. Nicholas
Management And Telework, Arlene J. Nicholas
Faculty and Staff - Articles & Papers
This chapter discusses telework as a desirable option for workers and a valuable tool for employers to attract and retain employees. Telework's many benefits are appealing to technologically competent and confident workers. Managers may be concerned with employee accessibility, productivity and possible loss of management roles (Arnold, 2006). When Yahoo CEO Marissa Meyer banned working from home, it was described as a step backward that countered studies of increased productivity, retention and job satisfaction that could demoralize the workers (Cohan, 2013; Gaudreau, 2013). An overview of benefits, incentives, organizational examples as well as possible deterrents and management resistance are identified.

On the other hand, skeptics of the role of IT in management education can also point to support for their view. This lack of consensus has led researchers in Academy of Management Learning & Education to call for scholars to confront the …

Faculty of Business - Papers (Archive)
We examine how two different underlying mechanisms of behavioral loyalty to a brand - attitudinal loyalty and habit - impact smartphone users' privacy management when they browse personalized vs. non-personalized mobile websites. The online experimental study conducted with Amazon Mechanical Turk workers (N = 73) finds different responses of attitudinal loyalty and habit towards personalization in significant three-way interactions between personalization, attitudinal loyalty, and habit on privacy disclosure and protection behaviors. When interacting with a personalized website, highly habitual consumers without high level of attitudinal loyalty disclosed the most personal information on a personalized mobile site, and displayed the least …

Modesty In The Top Management Team, Center For Executive Succession
Research Briefs
•Minority CEOs could be hindered by bias, or might be in high demand, and there’s reason to expect either. • Female CEOs make 6% more, and ethnically diverse CEOs make 32% more total compensation than their similarly situated white male counterparts. • This is not necessarily evidence that bias does not exist at the highest levels of the firm – females and ethnic minorities are still substantially underrepresented among for CEOs.
