Advertising Creativity : The View Across The Meeting Room And Across Cultures, Lester Johnson

Factors that impact advertising creative excellence are investigated by surveying advertising creatives in three countries, Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia, the first two of which are quite similar culturally and the third rather different. Opinions of these creatives are compared to opinions gathered, using the same survey instrument, for a sample of Australian advertisers. Not surprisingly there was more agreement among the creatives across the three countries than agreement between the Australian advertisers and any of the groups of creatives. Unlike other products that attract no attention when using strategies to increase market share, many of these potentially harmful products attract criticism from concerned members of society and often governments when their markets increase. This paper proposes an expanded relationship-service-profit chain as a business success model based on a blending of human resource management and marketing within the relationship marketing framework. The proposed model draws on the original service-profit chain developed in the 90s by academics at Harvard, which is further enhanced through the addition of a relationship marketing orientation and combining internal marketing and human resource management activities to best implement an updated service-profit chain. Developing A Quality-Of-Life Measure To Assess The Impact Of Community Services: The Case Of Australian Community Banks, Lester Johnson

In this paper we report on findings of a study designed to develop and test measures suitable to assessing the perceived comparative contribution of Australian community banks and other more conventional banks to communities served, and the perceived impact of these banks on the well being and quality of life of individuals who reside in those communities. Findings reveal that perceptions of the contribution of community banks to the sense of community and individual well being are significantly more favorable than those of more conventional banks.
