Despite the fact the many textbook publishers offer several of their titles in digital format, the sale of e-textbooks have been less than stellar. This study investigates factors in the adoption of e-textbooks. Specifically, it examines students’ preferences toward printed versus electronic textbooks, and why they prefer one to the other. In general, students still prefer printed textbooks to electronic textbooks. The primary reason for their preference was because the students simply prefer print to digital. The Japanese tourist market is a crucial component of the Hawaii tourism economy due to both market size and higher per capita expenditures in comparison with other key markets for the state. Over the past decade, annual Japanese tourist arrivals have decreased significantly off a peak in 1997. This study examines various supply and demand factors, which may be influencing Japanese tourist arrivals to Hawaii using regression analysis. This study investigates the types of adventure travel activities, ecotourism, soft-adventure, or hard-adventure activities, that meeting planners have used, and if the type of activity used varies by meeting planner type. Surveys were completed by one hundred and eighteen purposefully selected meeting planners. The sample included corporate, association, independent, incentive and other meeting planners from the United States and Canada. Overall, independent planners utilized the most activities across all three adventure travel categories, followed by incentive travel planners. Corporate, association, and other meeting planners did not seem interested in using adventurous activities at meetings.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the websites of a randomly selected group of Costa Rican ecolodges to determine how they are using their websites to market on the Internet.
