Although delivery of services in South Africa is the responsibility of all spheres of government, the provision of basic services lies at the doorstep of local municipalities. Local municipalities have, for many reasons, frequently been unable to live up to this mandate despite the fact that some of the challenges that they face can be addressed by using IT. Digital organizations have become highly dependent on digital platforms and customer needs as key resources for digital service innovation. These resources in the competitive environment are making and shaping innovation of digital services because, though external, they remain central to digital organizations’ strategic innovation and competitiveness. Yet, how and why organizing these resources influences digital service innovation is under-explained in the literature. Government Workspace Digitalization And Socioeconomic Development Outcomes In Ghana, Winfred Ofoe Larkotey, John Effah, Richard Boateng
The African Journal of Information Systems
The study sought to understand how the structurational environment shapes socioeconomic outcomes of government workspace digitalization in Ghana based on a qualitative, interpretive case study and the structurational model of technology as a theoretical lens. The findings show how the availability of electronic transactions law, government borrowing, and extendable system design can positively influence socioeconomic outcomes of government workspace digitalization. However, use of multiple system development environments, bureaucracy, a within-country digital divide, and a persistent physical signature and letterhead culture can negatively influence the socioeconomic development goals of government workspace digitalization.

The coordination of communication and awareness efforts in the process of Information Security Incident Management (ISIM) has been identified as a critical means of enhancing information security protection in organizations. This paper aims to explore the nuances of organizational information security with respect to the coordination of communication and awareness efforts among organizational stakeholders towards achieving a shared, interactive, and participatory ISIM. According to the findings of the study in the organizations sampled, it has been identified that reporting, communication, and awareness efforts within ISIM were found to be largely uncoordinated. This study was set to model Green eBusiness adoption among SMTEs in Tanzania, right from sourcing, operations, and to end-of-life-management. The study employed the use of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to analyze quantitative data collected from 240 respondents selected from 80 SMTEs in Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, Arusha, and Zanzibar, who were in operations for at least three years. This paper presents one of the first comprehensive analyses of Nigeria’s future readiness and attractiveness as a potential destination for IT-enabled services offshoring. The paper examines existing literature on IT services offshoring to Africa, and presents results from in-depth evaluation of seven important location selection criteria. The study indicates that while Nigeria appears to be making progress in many areas, the country is neither yet ready nor attractive as an offshoring destination. Despite significant resources employed in the digitalisation agenda in the healthcare sector in Sub-Saharan Africa, the transformative impact of information and communication technologies has not been realised. The purpose of this study was to examine the role of absorptive capacity (AC) in SMEs’ performance, as well as establish the correlation between SMEs’ AC and their IT adoption process. This study investigates factors instrumental to the success of software industries of the 3I Nations (India, Ireland and Israel), examines the relationship between its elements, and studies the performance of software firms in West Africa.
