This study is evaluating how much a Major League Baseball player should earn in salary based on their WAR (Wins Above Replacement) metric while controlling for a player’s veteran status and their current team’s market size. All data analyzed in this study was collected from the 2021 baseball season. The population of this study consisted of 213 MLB players that played in at least eighty games throughout the 2021 season. We hypothesized that if a player has veteran status, their team has a large market size, and they produce a high WAR metric that it will result in the player …

The purpose of this research is to explain the value of turnovers lost, turnovers gained, total yards, points, and first downs when it comes to winning games. Using cross-sectional data analysis, this study analyzed all of the stats from the 2021 season. Then picked three random teams in the AFC and three teams from the NFC. Results of the study showed that both turnovers gained and lost had the largest impact.

This study explores pastors’ interactions in a rural regional network through Network and Social Exchange Theories. With the increasing need to understand the life experiences of network actors, a qualitative based approach is utilized. The results provide in-depth and contextually sensitive results that traditional quantitative-based techniques cannot. In the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, the operational environment was chaotic and uncertain. Effective leadership in these circumstances was internally centered and values-based, rather than externally centered and rule-based. Theorists named this leadership style authentic leadership. Research into leadership in dangerous circumstances revealed that effective in extremis leaders display authentic leadership. Dangerous circumstances include not only military combat and traditional occupations such as law enforcement and firefighting, but also dangerous sports such as parachuting and mountain climbing. Psychopathy is often misrepresented as a sign of criminality and deviance. However, current literature suggests that psychopaths make up approximately one-fifth of the general population. Some people use these characterological traits to their benefit in positions of leadership. In this study, students from a Christian university in the Pacific Northwest were selected to participate in a survey, based upon their chosen major (Business, Psychology, and Religion). Economic opportunity varies dramatically across the United States. In this study the Opportunity to Flourish Index (OFI) is created to determine the level of opportunity United States cities afford those at the bottom of the income distribution. Indicators within the index measure disposable income, access to financial services, diet, educational attainment, unemployment, physical well-being, and family structure. The OFI’s relationship with standard measures of economic growth and economic mobility is also evaluated. The OFI is not correlated with measures of income and population growth, suggesting, that in the short-run growth and opportunity are not necessarily complementary. The OFI is strongly …

Development organizations and multinational organizations both struggle to find forms of leadership that are effective in mobilizing the workforce in highly diverse cultural contexts. In this article, the effects of empowering leadership on psychological empowerment and self-leadership are measured in two cultural contexts—Rwanda and the United States, representing both high and low power distance and individualism/ collectivism—to explore how empowering leadership behaviors affects the empowerment of subordinates. Although key features were established within the law the complexity of the new provisions and political opposition resulted in a series of federal and state governmental process changes, rule clarifications, and legal challenges. One component of the ACA is the introduction of a federal Medical Loss Ratio (MLR), which requires insurers to spend specified percentages of their premium revenue dollars on medical services and quality improvement actions. Articulating the goals of economic development and defining quality of life has drawn the attention of influential thinkers from Socrates to Sen. Attempts to quantify and compare economies as they pertain to these concepts have largely focused on the macroeconomy. In this study, the Metropolitan Development Index is created to measure development and quality of life in large, urban areas in the United States. The researchers then test the sensitivity of city rankings to the data used in constructing the index. This paper is concerned with measuring, quantifying, and modeling the extent to which governmental human rights abuses influence the Gross Domestic Product per capita adjusted for purchasing power parity of a nation. The intent of this study is to help develop a statistical framework for human rights under which better and more informed governmental policy decisions can be made. The results of this study suggest strong positive relationships between governmental regulatory quality, mean years of education, and government respect for physical integrity rights and higher GDP per capita (PPP).
