The complex dynamics of the phenomenon of trust, defined as a psychological state where one is willing to accept vulnerability based upon the positive expectations of a specific other or others, and the influence trust has on faculty involvement in institutional decision-making were explored in this case study. The effect of trust on employees’ business processes and work outcomes is an important focus for managers because more businesses have combined centralized and remote work environments in mixed-design organizations (MDOs). A multiple case study was conducted to explore successful strategies that 9 business leaders and managers in 5 service sector MDOs in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest region of the United States used to improve organizational performance by successfully building organizational cultures of trust. Over the last 3 decades, religious organizations have been embroiled in scandals that

have diminished public trust in the ecclesiastic community.The purpose of this study was

to examine church leaders and members emotional intelligence and spiritual leadership

behavioral characteristics that cultivate trust, and enhance organizational effectiveness,

and establish a baseline database to facilitate perpetuating positive social change. The

theoretical framework for this study used three models: Chathoth Trust Model; the Wei,

Liu and Allen Emotional Intelligence (EI) model, and the Fry Spiritual Leadership

Theory (SL) model. Survey instruments for each model were used to determine
