Leading Learning in Education and Philanthropy (LLEAP)
The findings of the first national survey on philanthropy in education have confirmed that when it comes to grant seeking, those least equipped can often be the ones most in need, with nine out of ten Australian schools surveyed considering themselves novices at philanthropic grant seeking. The three-year Leading Learning in Education and Philanthropy (LLEAP) project seeks to explore whether the full potential of funding and partnerships across the philanthropic and education sectors is being achieved. The selection of civil society institutions (which the author refers to as strands) around which the volume is woven is interesting because it contains several novel elements in a novel combination: civil society is said to consist of philanthropy, the common good, rule of law, nonprofit and voluntary institutions, individual rights, free expression and tolerance. This book is important reading for political philosophers, doctoral students and theorists interested in the connection of civil society and philanthropy. Yet it has a number of weaknesses that are enumerated in the review.

This brochure highlights the many ways that Friends has served Murray Library and the support they've provided.
Friends of Murray Library at Messiah College was formed in 1993 for the following purposes:
- To stimulate interest in the collections and facilities of Murray Library.
- To provide an opportunity for those interested in the library to participate in exhibits, programs, and volunteer activities.
- To attract gifts of books, manuscripts, and other materials for the library's enrichment.
- To encourage and receive financial contributions for needs beyond the library budget, such as building special collections.
