This dissertation research paper summarizes the pertinent literature on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in emerging economies. It focuses on the impact of FDI on host economies, political leaders’ uneven policies, and absorptive market demand implications arising from this (potential) impact. The beneficial effects of FDI on emerging economies provide capital and finished products, materials, parts, generation of tax revenues, higher exports, and access to new technology.
