The Effects Of Transformational Leadership And Job Satisfaction On Commitment To Organisational Change: A Three-Component Model Extension Approach, Luu Tien Dung, Phan Van Hai

Research Aims: The present study aimed to examine the relationship between transformational leadership, job satisfaction and employee commitment to organisational change. Design/Methodology/Approach: Extension of a three-component model was employed. The study sample consisted of 474 employees in organisations undergoing a significant organisational change in Vietnam. The data were analysed using a structural equation model (SEM). Research Findings: The study results show that transformational leadership has a positive and significant influence on job satisfaction and organisational commitment to change (affective commitment, normative commitment, continuance commitment). The Impact Of Training On Turnover Intention: The Role Of Growth Need Strength Among Vietnamese Female Employees, Luu Thi Nguyen, Yinghong Shao

Research Aims: Incorporating theories about psychological contracts and job characteristics, this research explores the relationship between different types of training events (i.e. on-the-job versus off-the-job training) and the turnover intention of female employees. Growth Need Strength (GNS) is a personality factor that strengthens this relationship. Design/Methodology/Approach: Empirical evidence for the research was derived from a survey that collected data from 221 female corporate officers in Vietnam, followed by a hierarchical regression. Research Findings: The results suggest that GNS significantly moderates the influence of off-the-job training on turnover intention. With a robust recent history of reform and opening, joining of the World Trade Organization, and negotiating a myriad of regional and global trade agreements, Vietnam has emerged as a promising destination for foreign direct investment (FDI) and cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&A). In this paper, we provide an overview of Vietnam’s inbound mergers and acquisitions and review the two main driving forces of inbound M&A, which are the legal framework reform process and the equitization of State-owned enterprises. We close by providing directions for future research in the area of cross-border M&As.

Differences in employee overall job satisfaction between public and private sector organizations have long been a topic of organizational academic debate. This study looks at the differences and the relationships between organizational characteristics and employee overall satisfaction between the State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and the Non-State-Owned Enterprises (Non-SOEs) in Vietnam.
