Despite evidence that the automation of administrative processes may lead to both cost reductions and performance benefits, there was little to no empirical evidence that holistically examined the impact of technology within the healthcare revenue cycle. The purpose of the current quantitative study was to examine the relationship between automated technology expenditure and revenue cycle performance.
