The Graduate College would like to update the current faculty search page to filter search results by Department and Research in addition to Name. With the current system, a person who wanted to find an unknown professor based upon a department or an interest in research topic would be unable to search because the only option is to type the professor's name. We have created a website linked to a database containing graduate faculty that is able to search by name, filter by department, and search through the professors' listed research topics. The Sustainable Small House Project was developed in cooperation with UNO/UNL Engineering, UNO Gerontology, and Metro Community College. This project merges both sustainable living with the small house movement to promote aging-in-place for older adults. This presentation describes the journey of Dr. Bing Chen as he envisioned the Sustainable Small House Project to its development and finally to implementation at its current location--west of Baxter Arena or adjacent to the UNO ballfield.

Eagle Aero Sport (EAS) is the first student operated aircraft build team at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Our team allows students to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of aircraft production including: aircraft assembly, design engineering, management of production operations, finance, marketing, and team building skills. Through research, and consulting with the Experimental Aircraft Association, our airplane of choice is the Van’s RV-12. EAS is modifying the airplane to add real time flight test instrumentation for research. These instruments will gather data for aerodynamic, structural, as well as aircraft performance experiments. The Airline Quality Rating (AQR) is the nation’s most comprehensive study of airline performance and quality for over two decades. The AQR sets the industry standard, providing consumers and industry watchers a way to compare performance quality among different US airlines using objective performance-based data (Bowen and Headley, 2014). The quantitative weighted average is computed monthly for every airline and divided by the sum of the weight to create the index. Criteria weighted in this formula include baggage handling, customer complaints, denied boarding and on time arrivals. Engagement & Service-Learning Summit

The Indiana Bicentennial Commission (IBC) was created by former governor Mitch Daniels to plan and execute a statewide celebration of Indiana’s 200th birthday in 2016. The commission has requested that researchers at Purdue University develop a high-tech Indiana-made flame torch a la the Olympic torch to be used in the celebration and displayed throughout all 92 counties of the state. In addition, the IBC requested that Purdue’s EPICS program develop a kid-friendly torch that can be used alongside the actual torch in relays, celebrations, and community outreach events throughout the state.
