This present study aimed at providing empirical evidence of whether sustainability report has value relevance for investors in buying or selling shares and affects firm value. This study used two research models. The first research model was used to examine the effect of book value and earnings on firm value. The Effect Of Ceo Characteristics On Pre-Earnings Management Profitability, Adhitya Agri Putra

This research aims to examine the effect of CEO characteristics on pre-earnings manage­ment profitability. CEO characteristics include gender, tenure, age, education level, founding-family status, and nationality. Pre-earnings management profitability is measured by return on assets minus discretionary accruals. Data analysis uses firm and year fixed-effect regression analysis. The result shows that female CEO, longer tenure CEO, CEO with higher education levels, and foreign CEO increase firms' profitability without engaging in earnings management. The aim of the study was to show tourist movement in Poland and its importance in the tourism and national economy. The analysis of the results confirms a several-year trend of further increases in the number of arrivals for both foreigners and foreign tourists. In parallel to the positive trend in terms of the number of trips, unfortunately a decreasing trend is observed in the level of average spending of tourists and one-day visitors. This paper provides a simplified approach toward estimating the cost of capital for a small company of the tourism sector. This is accomplished by dividing the hurdle rate into the return of the specific industry in a specific country, and a specific risk premium dependent on the size and age of the company/projects. We illustrate our proposal with investment estimations in lodging accommodations along the northern coast of Chile where tourism represents an important source of income and jobs. This study uses survey research to determine the 2020 annual earnings of hospitality financial man- agement educators. Forty-four percent of iAHFME members affiliated with educational institutions responded. Survey results show that for 2020, annual base salaries of iAHFME members ranged from $63,000 to $200,000. The lowest-paid member was an assistant professor and the highest-paid mem- ber, a full professor. Many respondents supplemented their base salaries by teaching during summer school or consulting or both. The total annual earnings of iAHFME members ranged from $76,000 to $245,000. In this study, the moderating effect of board diversity on the complex relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) performance and financial performance is examined. The resource-based view of the firm and stakeholder theory are used as the theoretical foundation of the study. The hypotheses of the study are tested via fixed-effects regression using data for a sample of 1,234 firms and 5,102 firm-year observations for the period 2009–2013. This article studies whether the government bonds portfolio developed based on bonds duration produces abnormal returns in London Stock Exchange fixed income market during the phase of double-dip recession and COVID-19. The sample consists of UK conventional gilts traded from February 2004 till February 2021. The daily data is obtained from Thomson Reuters / Refinitiv Eikon. Working capital structure is measured by working capital turnover ratio. This study aims to obtain empirical evidence about the influence of CEO popularity on banking performance at the earlier stages of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. The CEO popularity significantly improve based on their achievements in the public mass media. The study sample consisted of 108 banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in Q1 - Q3 2020. Panel data regression with a common influence model approach was used for analysis, while the company performance was measured using Tobin's Q. Ownership Concentration Dynamic Trade Off Theory And Debt Funding Of Business Start-Up, Hedia Fourati

The Journal of Entrepreneurial Finance

This paper examines the dynamics of financial in presence of ownership concentration of newly created firms. Our objective is to test the empirical role of the trade-off theory to explain the financial behaviour of business start-up. We use a sample of 114 business start-ups and we use the panel data estimation over the period 2006-2010. Our results show that start-up firms adjust slowly to target ratio for first years of operation. Ownership dispersion accelerates adjustment to debt funding. Asset tangibility remains the main determinants of debts funding for business start-up.

Using motivation crowding and self-determination theories, this study examines the relationship between elements of management control, intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, and the performance of public sector organizations in Indonesia. This study empirically tests the behavior of Sharia and non-Sharia securities investors towards corporate tax avoidance. If Sharia securities investors make investment decisions considering Sharia principles, corporate tax avoidance should be viewed as a bad practice which is contradictory to Sharia principles and it is intolerable for this type of investors. Using companies from the financial industry for the period of 2007-2018, the final sample comprises 378 observations for Sharia securities and 167 observations for non-Sharia securities. This study deployed a bibliometric analysis as an investigative method. The data were analyzed with R biblioshiny analytical framework. The findings revealed that JAKI was considerably consistent in publishing articles every period. JAKI publishes six articles each number and two publication numbers annually.
