Dual career families are more resistant to undertaking expatriate assignments primarily due to the difficulties associated with the trailing spouse not being able to find a job overseas and the potential net financial loss for the couple. As reported in other research, the failure of spouse or family to adjust is the number one reason for expatriate failure, therefore, a model for selecting expatriate candidates that accommodates the dual career family should help international human resource managers. Unternehmen die Datenqualität konzernweit organisieren wollen, stehen vor der Herausforderung, eine geeignete Form zu finden. Spezielle Anforderungen sind die Berücksichtigung unterschiedlicher Interessen und die Koordination aller Anspruchsgruppen. Bisher fehlen sowohl praktische Erfahrungen als auch wissenschaftliche Auseinandersetzungen, so dass Fragen nach der aufbauorganisatorischen Einordnung, der Abstimmung mit anderen Unternehmensbereichen und die Abhängigkeit vom Unternehmenskontext unbeantwortet bleiben. In this paper we present a tool to help reduce the uncertainty presented in the decision-making process associated to the selection and hiring of a professional athlete. A weighted mean hemimetric for fuzzy subsets with trapezoidal fuzzy numbers (TrFN) as their elements, allows to compare candidates to the “ideal” player that the technical body of a team believes should be hired.
